Harold "Prof" Powers

Harold "Prof" Powers lives in Athens with his wife, Ozelle. He is a former teacher and principal, having served for 33 years at City Park School. He is still a regular visitor in the schools, with students systemwide enjoying his storytelling. Prof has been selected as National Conservation Educator of the Year, and is considered the father of school camping in Tennessee. He served as Scoutmaster for 32 years and saw 183 young men become Eagle Scouts under his direction. Needless to say, he is a lover of the outdoors. Mr. Powers is also a former mayor of Athens. Prof and Ozelle have two children, Kathy, who teachers gifted students in grades 3-5, and Kris, who works in the transportation field. They have three grandchildren: Adam, Blake, and Corbin.
