News from Mrs. Breaux’s room

-         I decided to send the newsletter out on Thursday instead of Friday, due to some information that you need now.

-         We have started our new reading unit on responsibility and the children are having a fun time talking about and finding out what it means to be responsible. They are learning that it is more than just helping out around the house (although that is a large part). I have assigned a challenge to the students to look in the newspaper with parents and find people being responsible in their everyday life. When they bring them in we will be hanging them on our focus board.

-         In math we have started subtraction. Due to the busy week with everything going on, we have not gotten as far as we would have liked, but I can tell that the children are going to do wonderful with subtraction.

-         Our Harvest party will be Friday at 1:30. We are very excited!

-         With the help of Mrs. Littleton, we painted our pumpkins yesterday and they will be coming home today.

-         REMINDER!!! There is no school on Monday and Tuesday. It’s an in-service day for teachers.

-         Remember that tomorrow is also our RIF day. Please dress in red, white, and blue, as our RIF is focusing on the election. The students will be voting between 2 books, Rumpelstiltskin, and Hansel and Gretel. I think we are all very excited.

Hope you all have a wonderful Halloween and I would love to see pictures of the children dressed up!
