The North City School Counseling Program is based on the ASCA National Model.

Counseling Program

         The guidance program at North City School is comprehensive and developmental and is based on the American School Counselor Association National Model for School Counseling Programs.  The developmental approach emphasizes identifying certain life skills and experiences that students need to have as a part of their going to school and preparing for adulthood.

 

         All students have the opportunity to participate in monthly guidance classes which cover a variety of topics, such as, study skills, violence prevention, alcohol and drug awareness, career exploration, suicide prevention, and academic success.
