We will be reading The Last Safehouse in class.  Students will be given a quiz on listening skills at the end of the story.  They may need to take notes as the book is read aloud.  I will emphasize points that need to be learned.

Book Summary:

This book is about a little girl named Eliza who is on the run with "The Underground Railroad".  Her family becomes seperated and a white family has taken Eliza in.  Throughout the story, we learn about different aspects of slavery and The Underground Railroad.  It is a story of survival.
