Celebrate Read Across America week with us by dressing up each day!

K-Kids Week is celebrated the second full week of February and gives members the opportunity to show their community what K-Kids is truly about: service. ACIS K-Kids definitely did that this week.
Monday- Canned goods were collected by students at ACIS and ACPS for Coordinated Charities
Tuesday- Students visited TerraBella to enjoy time with residents, read to residents in Memory Care unit, and deliver treat bags for Valentine’s Day
Wednesday - Trash was picked up all around ACS campus
Thursday - a meal was provided for those in need in the community with the help of the Athens Kiwanis Club.

February is National Children’s Dental Health Month which is a great opportunity to promote the benefits of good oral health. It is important to develop good dental health habits at an early age, scheduling regular dental visits, helps children get a good start on a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums. Tennessee Wesleyan University is offering free dental health services for children 18 and younger during the month of February, for more information call 423-252-1475

ACS will be closed on Monday, February 19th in observance of Presidents' Day. Kids Connection will also be closed.

Ms. Gose's first grade class enjoyed celebrating Valentine's Day.

Mrs. Smith's kindergarten had lots of fun celebrating Valentines Day with fun learning activities. One of the favorite activities was using Play Doh to practice sounding out and building CVC words. Using a Pop-It is another fun activity to tap out sounds in words. They were able to take their Play-Doh and Pop-Its home to continue practicing their cycle words.

ACS staff attended the Coordinated School Health Institute this week to collaborate with other districts across the state on school health, wellness, nutrition, safety, and family engagement.
