A new reading challenge is coming up in December, but in the meantime students can keep working on their year long goals to earn special trips at the end of the year. Levels of Achievement for students: 1- Read at least 250,000 words or 35 books (average of 1 book a week) 2- Read at least 500,000 words or 60 books (average of 1.5 books a week) 3- Read at least 750,000 words or 90 books (average of 2.5 books a week) End of the Year Rewards: Level 1- Pizza and Games Party Level 2- Trip to Splashpad and Dairy Barn Level 3- Extended Day at Camp (Students will only receive the highest reward level they have earned.) Library is open 7:30-7:50 am - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for students who need to take AR tests.

Athens City Schools was presented the Healthier Schools Challenge- Platinum Level award at the TN School Boards Association Conference. This award focuses on Coordinated School Health Initiatives in the district focusing on Health Education, Health Services Healthy School Environment/Infrastructure Nutrition, Physical Education & Physical Activity, School Counseling, Psychological, and Social Services,Staff Wellness, and Student, Family, and Community Involvement. #ExcellenceIsACS
