ACS Coordinated School Health welcomed back staff this week with wellness baskets for staff to enjoy when they visit the staff wellness rooms. A reminder of the importance of staff health and wellness.





Mrs. Bri's class had fun today learning about New Years traditions, making resolutions, and celebrating the start to a new year. 🎉


ACMS Winter Fun Night is January 17th from 3- 5 p.m.


Rachel Cox, a District Science Facilitator from Knox County, is leading a curriculum immersion experience that showcases the shifts in science instruction. Athens is hosting with McMinn, Meigs, and Sweetwater joining the training.

ACS Coordinated School Health is excited to partner with Knoxville Comprehensive Breast Center this year. The mobile mammogram bus is setup today to provide ACS staff on site wellness services. This is one of many ways that ACS encourages staff wellness with routine wellness screenings.

Happy New Year from Athens City Schools!


Happy New Year! We look forward to seeing students return back to school on Tuesday, January 7th.


ACIS Lady Cougars lost 15-11 to Benton in the championship of the Bradley County Christmas Tournament. The girls came from behind to tie the game 8-8 at the end of the 1st quarter. Defense won in the 2nd quarter with no one scoring and going into half still tied 8-8. The Lady Cougars were able to take the lead at 11-10 but Benton was able to finish the game scoring the final 5 points.
Both teams return to regular season action on Thursday, January 9th at Michigan Avenue, then play their next home game on Monday, January 13th against Waterville. Girls play at 6:00 pm and boys at 7:00 pm.
