Members of local Athens City, Etowah, Niota Calhoun Police Dept, McMinn County Sheriff’s Department and Tennessee Highway Patrol meeting together today to start working in coordination to learn all local school sites and help insure that all agencies are familiar with each and every city and county school. Today they visited all the Athens City Schools campuses and met with our SRO’s and safety team members as we work together to keep our schools and community safe.
Attendance Matters every day for every child! Absences add up quickly, when a student misses 2 days a month and the impact it can have on their academics.
Thank you to Maxwell Lingerfelt for leading the Pledge and sharing an inspirational moment at tonight's school board meeting. Also, Ander King shared on behalf of K-Kids the need for accessibility to water fountains outside during recess and that the K-Kids is looking at this to be a project for this year.
