Tonight we welcomed almost a thousand visitors to Athens City Primary and Athens City Intermediate schools for Grandparent and Special Friend’s Night!! Our visitors and their students were able to explore the library, enjoy cookies and lemonade, do a fun craft, enjoy some outdoor Jenga on the patio, and have free photo opportunities with volunteers to take pics of the families. We were able to chat with so many friends, grandparents, parents and students! What an amazing event and it truly took an army of volunteers and school staff to pull it off. Thank you to the principals and assistant principals of both sides (Dr Walden, Angel Hardaway, Kendra Johnson and Ryan Armstrong) our generous librarian, Ms Peyton, who stayed late to allow visitors a quiet space for reflection and connection over a love of reading, our kitchen manager, Mrs. Newman who helped with setting up refreshments, student volunteers from ACMS, our SROs, Officer Bowman and Officer Queen, and seemingly countless PTO volunteers from both sides of the school in a Beautiful collaboration!This is a labor of love each year to be able to welcome so many loved ones into the school, but thanks to the dedication, time and energy of so many, it was a fabulous event. (Thank you to Mayfield Farm Park for their donation of autumn decor for one of our photo stations and Athens City Intermediate School PTO for the balloon and photo backdrops! It was a magical collaboration!

The Varsity Volleyball Team secured the South Area Tournament Championship! They will play next Tuesday for the District Tournament. Go Lady Cougars! #ExcellenceIsACMS
