September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Students and staff are encouraged to wear orange, blue, gold or a hat on Fridays during the month of September.
ACS CSH and School Nutrition are teaming up to share some helpful info each month. The month of August we are focusing on the benefits of eating Melons. Melons have high high water content, low in calories and provide excellent source of Vitamins A and C.
Did you know? One of the most common types of melons is the muskmelon, or cantaloupe. Other melons include the watermelon, honeydew, and canary. Its a great time of year to enjoy a delicious slice of melon.

ACS Systemwide Fall Back to School Family Engagement Resource Fair is scheduled for September 10 and October 22 from 5-6 p.m. We are so excited about the community fair and resource vendors that will be setup for families. The Tennessee Academic Standards are the grade or course-level expectations for what students should know and be able to do. The State Board of Education is charged under Tennessee statute (T.C.A. § 49-1-311-313) and State Board Policy (Standards Review Policy 3.209) to review and approve the English Language Arts (ELA), math, science, and social studies standards at least every eight years.
The first step in the review process is a survey open to all Tennesseans across the state. The State Board appreciates your interest in the ELA standards and welcomes your input. The surveys below will be open from August 12th, 2024, to September 8th, 2024.

Mrs. Kylene Raper was recognized today at ACIS from her students and colleagues to show how proud we are of her as one of nine state finalists for TN Teacher of the Year. ACS is so excited to see Mrs. Raper represent us at the TN Teacher of the Year Awards Banquet and we wish her the best.
