Attention rising 6th–8th Grade Parents: Your child can now start taking AR (Accelerated Reader) tests to earn points toward this year’s AR incentive parties! Testing is available at the middle school on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Don’t miss out—encourage your child to join the fun and start earning rewards for reading! ACMS summer school students were treated to an out of this world experience thanks to the Tennessee Tech STEM Center mobile planetarium!

Two professors from Lee University, Professor West and Professor Kasper, came and let the students explore the anatomy of a fetal pig, cow eye, cow kidney, cow heart, and a small brain. They also let the kids test out a bottle rocket apparatus to launch their bottles! 6th grade -gluing together panels and adding rings to the bottom of their balloons to create hot air balloons.

Athens City Schools Summer Feeding will be June 2- July 18. Free meals for any child 18 or younger, Monday- Friday. See flier for more info on locations and times.

NEW students to Athens City Schools for 2025-2026 School Year can register Monday- Thursday from 8:00-4:00 p.m. at the Administration Office located at 943 Crestway Drive. This is for any NEW student PreK- 8th Grade not already registered at ACS. For questions, call 745-2863.

2025 ACMS International Academic Competitions National Championship Participants! The ACMS students competing are part of over 2000 national middle school participants here in Orlando competing in the National History Bee, National Geography Bee and National Science Bee. Great job to all the ACM students! We are so proud of you for representing our district, county, state, and country.

This year, we were thrilled to welcome back the Dads of Great Students (DOGS) program—a heartfelt initiative that brings fathers and father figures into our school community as positive role models and champions for our students. One of our dedicated DOGS, Mr. Kevin Montooth, created a special gift for Miss Martha Arnwine in honor of her late husband, Larry Dean "Bucky" Arnwine, one of our original DOGS. We are deeply grateful for Mr. Montooth’s kindness and for all our DOGS who continue to serve, inspire, and honor Mr. Arnwine’s legacy. Together, we celebrate the spirit of service and community that makes our school truly special. 💙🐾 #ExcellenceIS
