Athens City Schools will operate on a regular schedule tomorrow February 3. Thank you to the Athens Public Works and ACS Maintenance/Custodial staff in clearing roadways and parking lots. We look forward to seeing everyone back to school tomorrow.

Due to continuing below freezing temperatures and the presence of snow and ice on many of our bus routes, city and county roads, and school parking lots, Athens City Schools will be closed tomorrow 2/2/26. Kids Connection will also be closed.

Due to the forecasted wintry weather and predicted icy road conditions Athens City Schools will be closed Monday, January 26 and Tuesday, January 27, 2026. A few tips to help keep from spreading germs during this cold and flu season. Washing your hands often, cover coughs/sneezes, and get plenty of rest. Before heading back to school on Tuesday wash your child’s jackets, backpacks, shoes, etc and help us fight off the flu and other germs. You can also wipe down their lunch boxes, binders, etc with disinfectant wipes. Help us keep colds and flu out of our school. #ExcellenceIsACS
