
NEW students to Athens City Schools for 2025-2026 School Year can register Monday- Thursday from 8:00-4:00 p.m. at the Administration Office located at 943 Crestway Drive. This is for any NEW student PreK- 8th Grade not already registered at ACS. For questions, call 745-2863.


Seasonal Ranger, Garrett Williams visited our K–2 students at summer camp today! They had a great time learning all about owls, snakes, and the wonders of wildlife.

ACMS had a great Monday. Our rising 6th graders completed a simulation on pendulums and experimented with potential and kinetic energy, then created their own pendulums. Our rising 7th grade students extracted DNA from strawberries, and dissected owl pellets. Our rising 8th grade students are working with Newton’s 3rd law and built their own hovercrafts. They will make adjustments and race them tomorrow.









Athens City Schools Summer Feeding will be June 2- July 18. Free meals for any child 18 or younger, Monday- Friday. See flier for more info on locations and times.


Happy Father's Day from ACS!


ACS Family Engagement and KC will be hosting Creature Feature summer family event on June 17th from 4:00-5:00 p.m. at ACI. Creature Feature will be providing a family friendly hands-on educational learning experience with live animals.


Kids Connection students enjoyed Charlene Such from McMinn County Living Heritage Museum making crafts with the students.










Kids Connection students enjoyed the week doing art,STEM, and learning activities. This week’s theme was animals.









ACIS Kids Connection students performed the play The Trial of Mr. Wolf. They performed it to ACPS Kids Connection students who were impressed with the performance.

ACMS finished out the week with a visit from The Creative Discovery Museum and we had a cell-abration. The students investigated plant, animal, and bacteria cells. Dr. Long with Tennessee Wesleyan came and spoke about energy flowing through ecosystems at the Killbride Nature Sanctuary. The seventh and eighth graders finished off the day making ice cream. We appreciated our guest speakers and the kids had an amazing day.
