Athens City Schools

Good attendance starts with being here—and every day matters! When students attend school regularly, they have more opportunities to learn, connect, and achieve.

Hey, Parents! This one’s for you!
Students who miss 1 day or less in September will be entered into a drawing for their parent/guardian to win a gift card to a local coffee shop!

Let’s work together to help our students BE HERE. BELONG. ACHIEVE.

Absences add up. Every minute counts!

Thank you for partnering with Athens City Schools to support your child’s success!

Everyone else finished in the top 50 percent! There were almost 87 girls and 135 boys running yesterday. We are looking forward to dominating the race again next week at Red Clay State Park.

Today, Julie Lofland, Coordinated School Health Supervisor & Family Engagement Coordinator with Athens City Schools, and Shelby Roberts, Coordinated School Health Supervisor with McMinn County Schools, presented to the Kiwanis Club of Athens about telehealth services now available in all three school districts in McMinn County. Through the partnership with Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital, along with the support and generous donations from United Way, school-based telehealth services are now available in Athens City Schools, McMinn County Schools, and Etowah City School. This program brings convenient, accessible pediatric healthcare directly to students at school, helping reduce barriers such as transportation, missed work, and missed school days while ensuring students can receive the care they need to stay healthy and ready to learn.

Join the Athens City Schools team! We have exciting opportunities available and are looking for dedicated individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of students.
