On Friday, April 4th, ACS staff and students are encouraged to join the nation by wearing BLUE to advocate against Child Abuse. April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to celebrate the good things our communities do to promote healthy child development and help prevent child abuse and neglect.


Fifth grade students had fun learning in STEM class about the food pyramid, healthy food choices, value of money, and portion sizes. Thanks to the Coordinated School Health mini grant for funding this project for students to learn hands on in the STEM lab.









Congratulations to our ACMS Share-A-Thon winners for their efforts in raising money through our school fundraiser. Way to go everyone!!

Exciting news! Thanks to a generous grant from the McMinn County Education Foundation and the incredible support of the parents of Ms. Peacock’s reading classes, each student was able to take home a book they published—to keep forever! This experience has empowered our young authors and given them a lasting reminder of their creativity and hard work. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!

Save the date! Japan Fest 2025 is Tuesday, April 22nd from 5:30-7:00 pm. It will be hosted at Athens City Intermediate School.


April 2 is Autsim Awareness Day. ACS staff and students are encouraged to wear blue to bring awareness to Autsim.


8th grade art RTi working with visiting Artist Kate Buuck, the Athens art center, and City of Athens to decorate birdhouses that will be on display at the Eureka trail.






Class of 2025- Athens City Schools would like to welcome all former students back for the Senior Walk on May 13th. It will begin at Athens City Middle School at 8:15 am then will proceed through Athens City Primary and Athens City Intermediate school. A reception for the graduates will follow the walk.
We would also like to welcome back any retired or former teachers of the Class of 2025 from Ingleside, City Park, North City, Westside, or Athens City Middle who would like to help line the halls and celebrate them.
