STEM Classes in K-5 have been studying the Seasons, Weather, and Clouds. Upon finishing the Lessons, the students have entered a week of Experiments, which included Cloud in a Jar and Rain in a Jar. Their reactions to these experiments' have been sweet. Watching their faces light up when they see the experiment work have been wonderful. Hope you enjoy the pictures and videos. Looking forward to more fun STEM Times with students this year.
Athens City Intermediate held our annual Title 1 Meeting and Family Engagement Meeting. We celebrated all of the ways our community has benefitted from the Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation and families helped to provide feedback for the books used in the 2024 GELF K-3 book boxes.
This week we began our student health screenings at Athens City Intermediate! We have our wonderful school nurses and central office staff teaming up together to complete screenings. Thank you ladies for always supporting Coordinated School Health at Athens City Schools where “Healthy Students Learn Better!”
National IT Professional Day is Tuesday, September 17th. ACS appreciates the great work from our technology staff. Thank you, John Dyer, Andy Cates, and Supervisor Dr. Andrew Kimball, for providing the ongoing support for students and staff at ACS.

Thank you for your patience and support as authorities have discovered the source and taken appropriate legal steps in regard to the specific threat at the middle school that caused today’s disruption. As always, we will investigate every threat in collaboration with local law enforcement and homeland security. Be assured appropriate legal and school disciplinary action will be taken. We hope this current trend of threats being experienced in many districts and states will end and help us to refocus on educating our students in a safe and nurturing environment.

The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority. We wanted to inform you that earlier this morning we were made aware of a threat mentioning our middle school circulating on social media.
Any threat we are made aware of is taken very seriously and will always be investigated with cooperation of law enforcement.
Law enforcement is actively investigating to determine its credibility.
As an extra security measure and peace of mind for our students,staff and families we will continue to have an enhanced security presence on our campuses.
