Athens City Schools is proud to announce that ACS Kids Connection has been awarded the LEAPS Extended Learning Grant for the 2026–2027 school year.
The LEAPS grant competition was highly competitive. The Tennessee Department of Education received 79 applications requesting approximately $20.4 million in funding, while only $13,035,000 was available for 46 grant awards. Receiving this award reflects the strength of the Kids Connection program and its commitment to providing high-quality extended learning opportunities for students.
The student referral and selection process will begin in August 2026. Additional information will be shared with families as more details become available.
Athens City Schools is excited and honored to receive this prestigious grant award and looks forward to the positive impact it will have on students and families throughout the upcoming school year.

Tuition payments for the 2026–2027 school year are currently being accepted at the Administration Building. A minimum of ½ tuition is due no later than August 3, 2026. Second-semester tuition ½ is due no later than December 18, 2026.
