K-Kids was able to add an additional monthly project starting today. A group of kids packed 290 NOC (Nourish One Child) bags for students in Athens City Schools. Kids helping kids is always a good sight.








In honor of National Children's Dental Month, TWU Dental Hygiene Clinic is providing FREE Dental Hygeine services in the month of February for children 18 and under. Please call 423-252-1475 to setup an appointment.


ACS Family Engagement is excited to announce the upcoming systemwide event on February 4th. Valentine's Origami and Card Making will be presented by the Athens Isahya Sister City Committee and the Asian Culture Center of TN. Event Registration is required, class capacity is 50people. This is a free event, all ages welcome! Register with QR Code on flier attached.

ACS CSH and School Nutrition are teaming up to share some helpful info each month. The month of January we are focusing on the benefits of eating Beef. Did you know? Tennessee is home to more than 45,000 operations and 2 million cattle. Beef is an excellent source of protein and supplies 10 essential nutrients including B-vitamins, zinc, and iron that support an active and healthy lifestyle.

ACIS collected stuffed animals to donate to the McMinn County rescue Squad at school and during home basketball games. Many children will be comforted in a tragic time because of all who donated. Thank you so much for your contributions.

ACS will be open on regular schedule on Thursday, January 23, 2025. We are excited to see everyone back to school tomorrow!


Two wins for ACIS Basketball over Charleston. Girls won 28-3 and the boys won 32-4.







Due to forecasted single digit temperatures and below zero windchills in the morning, Athens City Schools will be closed again Wednesday, January 22,2025. Kids Connection will also be closed tomorrow. Please stay warm and take precautions if you must be outdoors.


A few tips to help keep from spreading germs during this cold and flu season. Wash your child’s jackets, backpacks, shoes, etc and help us fight off the flu and other germs. You can also wipe down their lunch boxes, binders, etc with disinfectant wipes. Help us keep colds and flu out of our school.


Due to forecasted dangerously cold temperatures for tomorrow, Athens City Schools will be cancelled Tuesday 1/21/2025. Kids Connection will also be closed. We will continue to monitor conditions. Please stay warm and take precautions if you must be outdoors.
